The Power and Promise of Data Analytics
The potential of what can be achieved with analytics is tremendous, and it just keeps growing as
data continues to become a bigger part of our everyday life. Think about it: data is everywhere. It’s in our homes, computers, televisions, cars, cellphones... even our wristwatches. Businesses worldwide are revealing and acting on new insights from vast sets of data to re-imagine what’s possible for their organizations and industries.

In this session we will explore the power and promise of data analytics using cross-industry examples and explore the potential to apply these predictive analytic techniques to provide new insights and actions for educators and learners. Participants will be encouraged to participate through polling questions so please bring your mobile device and get ready to dive into the conversation!

The Technology Ecosystem of Your Classroom
Technology empowers teachers to do more in the classroom. Today’s teachers rely more and more on technology to support students’ learning outcomes. Yet few if any classrooms use a single technology or provider for all their needs. Each classroom is supported by a technology ecosystem, a mix of services and products built by different providers, all with different purposes. How do these technologies work together? How can teachers use save time and improve the outcomes for all their students?

Piloting the Standards-based Gradebook and Family Portal: A Panel
Limited Capacity filling up

Five districts (Maple Ridge, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Langley, North Vancouver) are leading the way in implementation of the standards-based gradebook and the parent portal in BC. This panel is a collection of implementation stories told by the people living and guiding pilot projects. Districts who are considering their own implementation will have a chance to discuss questions and ideas that can help you move your own implementation forward.
